VietnamThe Battle of Ban Me Thuot
The Battle of Ban Me Thuot takes place during the Vietnam War, as North Vietnam begins its final push to end the war and capture the South. The battle of Ban Me Thuot between South Vietnam and North Vietnam ends on March 10th of 1975. North Vietnam began enacting a campaign to take the city of Ban Me Thuot earlier in the year in an effort to destabilize South Vietnam. On March 4th, North Vietnam launched its offensive against the city despite a cease fire having been agreed upon two years earlier. Ban Me Thuot quickly fell and it became clear that South Vietnam would have difficulty defending itself against the North in further attacks. By the end of the next month South Vietnam surrendered to North Vietnam, ending the state of war between the two that had existed since 1955. In April the Vietnam wars officially ended.

Sony’s Betamax was somewhat popular throughout the late 1970’s but by the mid-1980’s VHS had won the so-called “Videotape Format War.”

Covid-19 today, how it's affecting me and the people we know.
413 confirmed cases in Massachusetts.
Massachusetts has its first death related to the novel coronavirus, a man in his 80s from Winthrop, state and local officials said Friday.
The man was in the hospital "and had pre-existing health conditions that put him at higher risk for COVID-19," the disease caused by the virus, the Department of Public Health announced Friday. He was an 87-year-old veteran who lived in Winthrop,

Four senators sold stocks before coronavirus threat crashed market
Four senators sold stocks shortly after a January briefing in the Senate on the novel coronavirus outbreak, unloading shares that plummeted in value a month later as the stock market crashed in the face of a global pandemic.
According to financial disclosure forms, Sens. Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.), James Inhofe (R-Okla.), Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Richard Burr (R-N.C.) each sold hundreds of thousands of dollars in stocks within days of the Senate holding a classified briefing on Jan. 24 with Trump administration officials on the threat of the coronavirus outbreak. The sales raise questions about whether the senators violated the STOCK Act, a law that bans members of Congress from making financial trades based on nonpublic information. Loeffler and her husband, who is the chairman of the New York Stock Exchange, sold at least $355,000 in stocks from Jan. 24-31, according to Senate records, after the coronavirus briefing hosted by the Senate Health and Foreign Relations committees. The senator and her husband also sold $890,000 in stocks from Feb. 5-14, just days after the first confirmed coronavirus cases emerged in the U.S. but nearly two weeks before community spread of the disease was confirmed within the country. The sales, worth at least $1.2 million together, saved Loeffler and her husband from steep losses they would have incurred after the stock market’s crash began Feb. 24. Loeffler said in a pair tweets Friday that she doesn’t control her and her husband’s financial assets and was informed of the sales on Feb. 16.
“This is a ridiculous and baseless attack. I do not make investment decisions for my portfolio. Investment decisions are made by multiple third-party advisors without my or my husband's knowledge or involvement,” Loeffler tweeted.

Uprising was Bob Marley's final studio album, and is one of his most religious productions; it includes "Redemption Song" and "Forever Loving Jah".[60]
In July 1977, Marley was found to have a type of malignant melanoma under the nail of a toe. Contrary to urban legend, this lesion was not primarily caused by an injury during a football match that year but was instead a symptom of already-existing cancer. Marley turned down his doctors' advice to have his toe amputated (which would have hindered his performing career), citing his religious beliefs, and instead, the nail and nail bed were removed and a skin graft was taken from his thigh to cover the area.[62][63] Despite his illness, he continued touring and was in the process of scheduling a world tour in 1980.[64]
The album Uprising was released in May 1980. The band completed a major tour of Europe, where it played its biggest concert to 100,000 people in Milan. After the tour, Marley went to the United States, where he performed two shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City as part of the Uprising Tour.[65]
Marley's last concert occurred at the Stanley Theater (now called The Benedum Center For The Performing Arts) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on 23 September 1980. Just two days earlier he had collapsed during a jogging tour in Central Park and was brought to the hospital where he learned that his cancer had spread to his brain.[66]

1988 “Here I go again” Whitesnake is the self-titled seventh studio album by British rock band of the same name, released in 1987. It produced a major power ballad hit, "Is This Love", along with the number one hit "Here I Go Again". The album was a major crossover hit eventually selling over eight million copies in the US. It peaked at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 for ten nonconsecutive weeks, barred from the top spot by three different albums. The album remained at or near its peak position over the course of six months, from June to November, 1987. and No. 8 on the UK Albums Chart. Its success in the US boosted its predecessor, Slide It In, from gold to double platinum status and would see the band receive a nomination for the Brit Award for Best British Group in 1988.
